SAINT-REMY SLEEPS ON TREASURE

The old abbey, transformed into a castle, was destroyed during the French revolution of 1789.
According to the legend, a servant hid his fleeing masters’ treasure, hence the saying "Saint-Rémy sleeps on treasure."
On this site, situated on the Gironde estuary facing the Médoc, the Gousseland family have been winemakers for five generations.
Today, Alain Gousseland manages the 36 hectare Domaine de Saint-Rémy with its 28 hectares of vines producing Vins de pays, Cognac and Pineau des Charentes.
